1. I want to get tattooed in Rolling Tattoo. How should I start?
To get tattooed in Rolling Tattoo, we need to know your idea to be able to advise you, give you a price and book an appointment. Depending on our working appointments book, you may come to our Studio soon (if you want a commercial/walk-in or small tattoo) or you may have to book an appointment for a later date (if it’s a more complex piece).
In both cases, the best is to visit our Studio personally, to see our facilities and to meet our human team and their work. This way we will be able to know the ideas for your tattoo and we may advise you in base of your type of skin, the placement you have in mind, to measure the area, discuss about the details of the design, and to clear up all your questions and estimate a price. You may help us bringing your drawings, pictures or images from the Internet as a reference.
If you are interested, you will just have to pay a deposit to book your appointment (this deposit will be part of the final price of your tattoo). We will give you a business card where we will note down the date for your appointment and the deposit you have payed.

2. Advices before getting tattooed
Your skin must be prepared so that we can work on it under the best conditions. The results of your tattoo will mostly depend on these recommendations:
-
-
- Don’t sunbathe nor UV-bathe at least 15 days before your tattoo session.
- Exfoliate the skin area where you want to have your tattoo done a week before the session, and also moisturize it during that week.
- Do not drink alcohol, do not take an aspirin nor antihistamines and do not eat spicy food at least 24 hours before your appointment.
- We do not recommend the anaesthetic creams for your appointment: They compromise the tattoo’s result and we will not be able to take responsibility for it.
- If you have a cold, the flu or feel sick, you can’t get tattooed. Remember to postpone your appointment 48 hours before your appointment if you do not want to lose your deposit.
- Come wearing comfortable and wide clothes that don’t leave marks on your skin. And… It’s better if it isn’t white or if you don’t mind if it gets stains!
- If you’re getting a complex tattoo and are with your period, your organism may be more sensitive to pain. If you prefer, you may postpone your appointment 48 hours before.
- Before coming to your appointment, relax taking a nice shower, shave the area to be tattooed carefully and for your comfort . Eat something 2 hours before. (If you come during the morning, it’s very important to have breakfast before coming). If you wish, you may bring your bottle of water, a soft drink and something sweet.
- Bring your ID card, Driving License or Passport to fill in your Informed Consent; your music, your tablet, a book or your smartphone to keep yourself entertained.
- Don’t expect the “pain” you will have to tolerate. Once we begin, you will realise that it’s not such a big deal and you will be thinking about your next tattoo!
- If it’s your first tattoo, we don’t recommend you to start with long sessions on areas like ribs, back of the knee, armpits or hips.
- Do not come with children or many companions to your tattoo session (we only allow one companion in normal conditions). Children are usually curious and nervous, and require attention. The tattoo artist needs tranquillity and concentration to work on your tattoo.
- Very important: If you can’t keep your appointment, or if you need to postpone it or cancel it, you must communicate it to us 48 hours before, to keep your deposit. It’s not so complicated to call or to send us a WhatsApp, and this allows us to continue with our work and the Studio’s appointments book.

3. I want a small and simple Tattoo. What should I know?
The client must know the limitations that the skin has on small tattoo:
-
-
- It’s possible that the size you want for your tattoo can’t be done so small (Specially on letters, sentences and dates). The tattoo artist will recommend you an appropriate size to avoid that with the pass of time the tattoo becomes a blur (Although in this aspect, it’s also very important the type of skin you have).
- An oily or very oily skin, for its nature, will tend to thicken the lines and the dotwork areas, during the tattoo’s healing process.
- The black pigment tone will lighten during the healing process, so the intense black color will turn into a neutral black that can lighten more if you don’t take care of the skin with the pass of time.
- We recommend you to read points 8 and 9 of Tattoo Cares
-
4. I want a black and grey tattoo. What should I know?
The client must know the limitations that the skin has on Black and Grey tattoos:
-
-
- An oily or very oily skin, for its nature, will tend to thicken the dotwork areas, during the tattoo’s healing process.
- The black pigment tone will lighten during the healing process, so the intense black color will turn into a neutral black that can lighten more if you don’t take care of the skin with the pass of time.
- We recommend you to read points 8 and 9 of Healing Process and Cares for your Tattoo.

5. I want a Coloured Tattoo. What should I know?
The client must know the limitations that the skin has on Coloured Tattoos:
The experience tells us that a coloured piece must bet on techniques where the saturated colours, the solid and high contrast gradients and the use of black ink are essencial for its durability. In Rolling Tattoo we have specialised in these type of techniques. They let us achieve satisfactory technical results, for the artist and for the client. Also because we have inherited the use of colours from styles and techniques that we enjoy.
The excellent coloured tattoos depend on the tattoo artist’s experience for the success of the final result: Not all the clients have an appropriate skin tone to keep the intensity and tone that was desired after the healing process. Depending on your skin tone, some colours can get lost or change. For this reason, in Rolling Tattoo we will give you options so that the tattoo’s result stays as faithful to the colour with the pass of time as possible.
We like to be sincere: If your skin tone is dark or very dark, the colours won’t shine on your skin if you’re looking for a vibrant tattoo. If you usually don’t worry about your skin and about your tattoo (During the healing process, and the after cares, moisturizing and protection from the sun), it isnt’ very recommended to expect good results. As well as other artists need a particular canvas for their art pieces, the tattoo artists need a particular skin type and tone to achieve their pieces, and in the coloured tattoos is where this leaves proofs.
Did we disillusion you or have we avoided you a disappointment? In any case, we always want your experience to be positive in our Studio. Besides, you can always come to our Studio to show us your skin quality and tone to help you make the best decision. If your skin tone is light, coloured tattoos are a good choice.
6. On which Tattoo Styles are you specialised in?
Rolling Tattoo is a versatile Studio, with an aesthetic and artistic recognized criteria. We design and create pieces in different styles with professionalism and responsibility. We are very demanding with our results, and if we are not sure if we are capable of doing a certain style in the level that the client requests, we reject it or recommend another specialised artist.
Our works are characterised by their cleanliness, meticulousness and attention to the details. We like to get involved in the work with our client, whether it’s a small commercial tattoo or an exclusive and complex piece.
We are specialised in colour and black works in the following styles:

7. It’s my First Tattoo. Must I take an allergy test?
-
-
- Our clients don’t usually request an allergy test. In Rolling Tattoo we haven’t had problems related to possible allergies to the tattoo inks we use. Nevertheless, if you think it’s convenient, we can do a simple allergy test with the inks we will use for your tattoo. Although we would like to underline that we are not professionally trained to do medical allergy tests, so these won’t be totally reliable. The best choice is to visit your dermatologist if you think
you can develop an allergy to the tattoo inks. - If you’re allergic to metals and/or hair pigments, we don’t recommend the coloured tattoos.
- We don’t use latex gloves, we use nitrile gloves instead.
- All our materials are disposable.

8. Previous time needed to book my appointment
-
-
- For Walk-in Tattoos we recommend you to call or contact the Studio before by phone call or Whatsapp. If it’s possible, we will give you an appointment immediately or during the day.
- For Commercial and Small tattoos, if you’re not in a hurry, we may be able to find some time during the week to give you an appointment. Sometimes, and/or depending on the season, it won’t be possible to give you an appointment so soon, because of the work volume of the Studio and its appointments book.
- For more complex pieces, our waiting list to give you an appointment is approximately 2 months long; If you’re just visiting or on holidays here, it’s important for you to contact us 2 o 3 months earlier (especially on peak seasons: Spring, Early Summertime and Autumn). Many of our clients arrange their appointments from their Provinces or Countries months before coming to Fuengirola.
-
Our Customers Service Schedule is from Monday to Friday, from 11 am to 6 pm.
9. Can I change the date of my appointment?
Of course you can!
You must let us know the change of date or cancellation at least 48 hours before your appointment to keep your booking deposit. We will look for a new date for your appointment. But remember that we work according to the events and the order of our clients in the Studio’s appointments book. We will always try to place your appointment as soon as possible.
If you want to get tattooed out of our commercial schedule, it could imply an extra cost.
10. What is the appointment’s deposit? When can I lose it?
The deposit is required to book the appointment for your tattoo and it’s an advance of the total price of the service. This deposit is earned in concept of booking in our appointments book; Also for the previous time, work and management dedicated to your tattoo before doing it on your skin. The amount of the deposit is 20€ for small or commercial tattoos and
50€ for complex tattoos. The deposit’s amount will be substracted from the final price of our service.
When can you lose your deposit?:
-
-
- If you don’t postpone or cancel your appointment at least 48 hours before (Keep in mind that the tattoo artist will have the design and tattoo materials prepared for your session and setting up and dissasembling a work table doesn’t take just 10 minutes…)
- If you come to your appointment in conditions in which we can’t tattoo on your skin (See cases in which you can’t get tattooed).
- If you don’t agree with the previous design once the tattoo artist has already dedicated an important time working on it.
-
11. What is the Informed Consent?
-
-
- The Informed Consent is an obligatory document that you must fill in with your information and confirm presenting your ID Card/Passport/Driving License before starting the tattoo session. (Don’t worry about your Data, they’re strictly confidential: We are very serious about the Protection Data Law).
- This document will pick up your free, voluntary and conscious consent. Expressed in full possesion of your mental faculties after receiving the previous appropriate information.
- Before the tattoo session takes place, we must inform the user, in writing and in an understandable way, about its peculiarities, the possible risks and the after cares that the tattoo requires.
- If you’re under 18 years old (and over 16 years old), your legal tutor, mother or father must come with you to the Studio presenting her or his ID card, to sign that she/he also consents.
- This document, besides, is a professional guarantee, for both the client and the tattoo artist.
-
12. When can I see the design or sketch of my tattoo?
We would love to send it to you NOW and know your opinion! All our clients want to see their design as soon as possible. We understand: It is something special!
Our appointments book doesn’t allow us to dedicate time to your design immediately . For this reason, we organize the time dedicated to each design in order of our clients in the appointments book. This means that we start working on your design closer to the date of your appointment:
-
-
- Commercial pieces, small or simple tattoos: (Names, dates, tracks or footprints, symbols and similar…). In most of the cases, it’s not necessary to send the sketch because they are not complex designs. If it’s not your case, you may see the sketch 24 hours before your appointment or directly in our Studio. The changes you want can be done in the moment, without any problem.
- Complex pieces: They need a dedication of time adjusted to its complexity, to develop the previous sketch. You may see your design 48-72 hours before your appointment. This time is enough to make the possible changes or adjustments 48 hours before your tattoo session. We want to specify that a sketch is not the final art or the final result of your tattoo. The sketch is a practise of the composition, the essential lines, the basic or approximate colours and shadows to give them its “soul” once we work on your skin. This drawing lets us show you the design as soon as possible and prepare the stencil to work on your skin, to then create an exclusive and unrepeatable piece.
-
13. What happens if I don’t like the previous design of my Tattoo?
-
-
- Before booking your appointment it is essential for you to see the tattoo artists’ works, to know the styles in which he is specialised in. This way you will know if it suits with your tastes and your idea for your tattoo. It is also very important for you to trust in the professional opinion and experience of the tattoo artist, who will create the previous design based on the instructions and details accorded in your booking process. Once we have shown you the sketch, you may suggest and make 2 changes maximum with no problem; it’s the habitual procedure. If you want more than 2 changes, the final price of the tattoo may be increased, although this doesn’t usually happen.
-
If you still aren’t happy with the final result or if you have radically changed the idea you had in mind for your tattoo, we may postpone your appointment booking another date. If we don’t accomplish your expectations, you may always visit another tattoo studio. In these cases, remember that time invested in the design work, the customers service and management of your booking is work time, so once the design has been created, the deposit won’t be given back. Designing can entail hours of work and nobody works for free! But… You don’t have to worry! These type of problems in Rolling Tattoo are just anecdotal.
-
The property rights of the complex tattoos’ sketches belong exclusively to the tattoo artist till he tattooes it on the skin. Except for express authorisation of it, it is not allowed to share them with third parties, nor be tattooed in other Tattoo Studios nor use the design for commercial purposes by the client. The tattoo artist reserves the right of using the designs for commercial purposes, always if it doesn’t harm the client. Also, they will not be used or copied for other clients: our clients’ designs and tattoos are exclusive.
-
To get tattooed in our Studio, apart from a clear or approximate idea of what you want, you must keep in mind that:
- Our tattoo artist isn’t a photocopier nor a tool; his an artist and an artisan.
- The tattoo techniques obey to some rules and limits that we must accept.
- The beauty and the aesthetic taste are subjective but the tattoo artist has a professional opinion that must be accepted.
- We appreciate that our clients are demanding with our work. However, an excess of indecision, thoroughness or perfectionism (excessively or in a problematic way), can complicate the process and the expectations, in our Studio and in other Tattoo Studios. Let us advise you! We are the first ones who want to surprise you with a nice work that represents us.

14. Type of tattoos and services that we don’t do
-
-
- We don’t offer micropigmentation service, nor laser tattoo removals nor piercings.
- Although we are a very versatile Studio, we don’t accept works that we are not capable of developing technically. In this case, we will recommend you another professional tattoo artist.
- We don’t finish pieces from other tattoo artists.
- We don’t do cover-up tattoos if we’re not able to offer a satisfactory result.
- We don’t tattoo on lips, mucous areas or genitals.
- We don’t accept explicit designs that attempt against people’s freedom.
- Apart from the “commercial” or “artisan” tattoos, we don’t copy designs without the express consent of the artist: The tattoo is something unique, personal and non-transferable. Our Studio is characterised by creating unique pieces of art for each client. You can bring references or ideas from other artists that will be useful to orient us to create your piece, but we won’t copy it.
- Except for justified exceptions, we don’t make complex tattoos based on designs created by the client if they don’t have the sufficient artistic or aesthetic quality.
-
15. When can’t I get tattooed?
We don´t tattoo you if…
-
-
- If you’re under 16 years old.
- If you’re under 18 years old and you don’t have the express consent of your mother, father or legal tutor. She or he must come with you to our Studio the day of your appointment to sign the informed consent and bring her/his ID card/passport/driving license.
- If you’re pregnant or during the lactancion period.
- If you’re under the effects of some type of substance that can disrupt the process of the tattoo session.
-
We also advise against getting tattooed…
-
-
- On the skin areas that suffer some type of illness or alteration (psoriasis, dermatitis, varicose veins, scars from less than 2 years ago, keloid scars…).
- Being convalescent from a disease, under an antibiotic treatment or taking antihistamines.
- Being under some medical treatment that contraindicates getting a tattoo done or that can alterate its result (Coagulation treatments, anthistamines… Consult your doctor if you have any questions!)
- Hands and Face: If the motive and size of the tattoo can suppose a work or social problem, depending on the lifestyle and age of the client. The tattoo artist will decide if it’s convenient under his professional opinion.
- If you’re allergic to some type of pigment. If you want a coloured tattoo, it’s ideal to visit your dermatologist before, to check if you have possible allergies. We can practise these type of tests in our Studio, but they will not be conclusive, so we cannot take responsibility of them.
- If your skin is sunburnt, if you have consumed alcohol or eaten spicy food 24 hours before the session, these can disrupt the tattoo process and its result. In this case, the tattoo artist reserves his right of cancelling/postponing the session, and consequently the client will lose her/his deposit and will have to book a new appointment.
- If you’re on your period and want a complex piece on certain areas of the body that are more sensitive to pain.
-
16. Body areas that we don’t recommend for your tattoo

- Hand knuckles, knees and elbows: Depending on the skin type, the tattoo can suffer a considerable erosion. (You will have to retouch the tattoo frequently).

- If it’s your first tattoo, we don’t recomment long sessions on ribs, knee pits, armpits or hips.
-
17. What does the price of my tattoo depend on?
-
-
- Our quality-cost relationship is excellent. The minimum price in any professional Studio of the area is 50€.
- The price of a small commercial or simple tattoo (Names, sentences, dates, footprints or tracks, symbols and similar…) will fluctuate between 50€ and 80€.
- The price of a complex tattoo depends on the work dedicated to the previous sketch and the tattoo session. For this reason, we estimate an approximate work time and we close the price. It depends on the complexity of the design, the skin type of the client and the body area chosen for the tattoo’s placement (some of these are more complicated to tattoo and require more time than others). It also depends on the use of colours and possible mishaps caused by the client during the tattoo session.
- The price of the healing methods for the tattoo (Cream or Bandages) are not always included in the tattoo price.
- We remind you that the deposit payed to book your appointment, will be deducted from the final price of your tattoo.
- We don’t allow bargaining. It entails a lack of respect to our work.
- We don’t have a dataphone. Sorry for the inconveniences: the payment must be done in cash.
- Getting tattooed out our customers service schedule can suppose an extra cost.
-
18. Rolling Tattoo’s Guarantees and Responsibility
Rolling Tattoo includes in its service the retouching needed on your tattoo during the two following months after the tattoo session without extra cost for the client always if it’s necessary. Our Tattoo Studio also counts on a Civil Responsibility Ensurance and a Proffesional Ensurance that cover the possible accidents caused during the tattoo session. This means that we only take responsibility for what happens inside our Studio and during the tattoo session. After years of experience, monitoring our work and customers service, we can assure that we will be of great help if anything unexpected happens, if the client’s attitude is honest and positive: The last thing we want is a client with reasons to be unhappy
with our service. It’s important to underline that all these details are included in our obligatory Informed Consent, that the client and the Studio must fill in by Law.
The retouching of the tattoo gets excluded in the following cases and will have to be in charge of the client:
-

- If the skin is very oily.
